Driving Directions:
Trailhead and parking area are on Rt. 302 in Carroll, NH, 2.5 miles east of Rt. 3. The very large parking area is on the north side of the road. Note: Upper Ammonoosuc Falls is located nearby, 2.2 miles up Base Station Road (access to Mt. Washington Cog Railway) on the right. It is well worth a visit.

About the Hike:
Lower Ammonoosuc Falls is a powerful low-angle cascade in a short gorge on the Ammonoosuc River. It is easily accessed on a snowmobile trail and the pool below the falls is great for swimming. The 0.6-mile walk along the river provides views of mountains.
